May 31 - ATTENTION MUSICIAN JAM SESSION AT AYA’10 HANGAR HOEDOWN! One of the events at AYA-’10 is a big hangar party Friday Night from 7:00 PM until ???. As a former professional entertainer and drummer, I volunteered to help with the “Jam Session” that is a part of this event. (Oh, bye the way, I am Ken Blackman.)
There will be a DJ set up with all the inputs for instruments to run through his sound system so we don’t need to worry about amplification. I am going to rent a set of drums and Roscoe is furnishing some guitars and s set of Congas. Besides myself, Stu Wilson, (larger half of our Sec/Treasurer team) will be bringing his guitar (and he is pretty good) and singing. My Wife, Jan (former AYA Sec/Treas. and lead vocalist with our old road band) will see if she can remember some lyrics. Other than this, I need to know about all the others who plan to attend the convention who have talent and are willing to get up on stage and share it with the other attendees. Whether you play an instrument, sing, dance, or what ever, please call or e-mail me and I will get an idea of what we will need for equipment and what kind of show we can try to put on. You can reach me at 425-334-3030 and e-mail me at guru@airmodsnw.com.
Back in the early ‘90s, when we held 3 annual weekend Air Mods Fly-Ins at our facility, we had lots of fun doing this kind of Jam Session and Hangar Dance. It is amazing what kind of talent shows up driving a Grumman. Let me hear from you real soon!
May 28 - RJ Segal ,the CEO of LoPresti Speed Merchants will be showcasing their newest product for the Yankees and 4-seaters this year at convention. Folks, it is stunning and I'm sure you will love it. Be sure to stop and see it.
May 27 - Here's a treat for all. This year we will have a tiger at convention that has not seen a Grumman Specific shop in 14 years, last at Fletchair's. The experts will examine this plane and report the findings at "Ask the Experts" as well as take the usual owner questions. This should back up what Grumman shops find all the time. This should be very helpful for owners and the experts, a learning experience for all!
